Titanium rings are not scratch-resistant. They’re still great though.

A common misconception I hear all the time from clients is that titanium is scratch resistant.

Unfortunately this is far from the truth.

Titanium is a strong, lightweight metal, but it’s not a hard metal.

Compared to gold and platinum, titanium will resist deeper scratches and dents, but otherwise it will mark relatively easily.

I would compare it to stainless steel, for example if you look at the state of your kitchen sink, you will see it covered in scratches from cutlery etc. The same thing happens to titanium.

The good thing is it is rather easy to re-finish. A basic kitchen Scotchbrite pad will buff out any fine scratches and maintain your brushed finish.
