Long utilisation cycles and wedding ring design

There are practically zero other products that a person will have attached to themselves for the rest of their lives. A wedding ring has to have the longest utilisation cycle of any other product.

Think about it! Cars, houses, clothes, glasses, phones… nothing is for life like a wedding ring.

When designing your ring, ask yourself if this is a design that is currently trendy or if this is a design that is timeless.

A balance must be struck between creating a unique enough design that is enjoyable to you now, but also 20 years later. Don’t fall for fashion and trends (I’m looking at you carbon fiber rings), because a wedding ring choice is for life.

There’s something to be said for minimalism. Your absolute classic, timeless design would be the Minima with it’s slightly domed profile.

My choice for a timeless, minimalist design going forward would be the zero in 5 or 6mm in platinum.
